A collection of more than 150 lovingly restored vintage vehicles will be on display on Sunday 21 February at the NRMA Merimbula Beach Holiday Park at Short Point Beach on the NSW South Coast.
NRMA Motoring & Services Director Alan Evans said the seaside venue was a glorious backdrop for the vintage car enthusiasts’ gathering, an event which is becoming a much anticipated and popular annual attraction on the Sapphire Coast Events calendar.
“Around 3,000 people attended the 2009 event and organisers are hoping for 3,500 this year as the number of cars participating has increased,” Mr Evans said.
Car enthusiast crowd pleasers including; rare vehicles, classic vintage vehicles and sports cars will be on display.
The one day event organised by the NRMA Merimbula Beach Holiday Park and the Sapphire Coast Historical Vehicle Club attracts car enthusiasts from the ACT Porsche Club, Eurobodalla Car Club, Cooma Car Club, Bega Car Club, Sapphire Coast Car Club, and Lakes Entrance Car Club.
The cars will be on display from 10.00am – 4.00pm, admission is a $2 gold coin donation per person and all funds raised will be donated to Can Assist a non-profit organisation which supports and assists people undergoing cancer treatment in the local area.
A full day of entertainment featuring local talent Andy O’Donnell, Gary Eastwood, The Lounge Lizards plus Elvis and Pavarotti tributes are sure to delight the crowd.
In addition to the Sunday Gala Day, Normie Rowe supported by the Stumbling Wilbury's will perform on Saturday night, this event has been organised by Pambula Rotary Club, Bega Cheese & Frankie. J. Holden tickets start from $12 and proceeds will help build the Pambula Aquatic Centre.
NRMA Merimbula Beach Holiday Park will be providing plenty of shade. Cheeky Mango Café will be preparing reasonably priced food & refreshments.
