2010 Gala Weekend2010 Gala Weekend

The recent Classic Car and Gala Day weekend at Merimbula Beach Holiday Park was an outstanding success.

On Saturday night Aussie entertainment legend Normie Rowe’s appearance was one of the highlights of the two-day event. The weather was fantastic on the night and Normie’s concert had everyone up and dancing. Normie was backed by well-known local group Stumblin’ Wilburys, while Gary Eastwood also put on a fantastic performance. More than 350 tickets were sold. The night was organised by Pambula Rotary Club and Frankie J. Holden with Merimbula Beach Holiday Park’s assistance and was to raise money for the Sapphire Aquatic Center Project.

The weather for the Gala Day on the Sunday was great and very warm. The park had over 1500 people through the gates - a fantastic turn out! The centrepiece of the event was the classic and vintage car exhibition that featured well over 120 beautifully maintained and presented cars, ranging from 1911 rattlers to late model Porsches. The park managed to raise over $3000 for the local Cancer Assistance Network Association.

This great Gala Day is an annual event held and organised by Merimbula Beach Holiday Park. All profits from this day are donated to a local cancer charity - this year's charity was Can Assist (Cancer Assistance Association in Bega). They provide financial assistance (bills, travel etc.) for people undergoing treatment for cancer and as they are completely non-profit, they rely on donations and volunteers to help.
